Summer time is in full swing and it is getting hotter by the day. Having your air conditioner work at times like these are critical but sometimes things go wrong and your air conditioner doesn’t cool the way you expect it to cool. There are a couple different reasons your AC might not be blowing as cold as it could.
*You are low on refrigerant. When you are low on refrigerant your air conditioner cant cool the air as well due to a leak.
*Your line could be frozen due to being low on refrigerant. You will see ice on your line by the unit. When this happens YOU MUST shut the air conditioner off to let that defrost before a technician comes out to recharge it, otherwise we will be putting your heat on in the middle of summer to aid in defrost and no one likes that idea.
*Your unit outside could be clogged by dirt, debris, cottonwood seeds, and other miscellaneous things. You should check the filter each month to make sure it is free of clogs that slow down air circulation and cooling of the air.
*You could have a blown fuse, tripped a breaker, or something could have knocked into the power switch and turned it off.
*The thermostat could be switched to fan instead of cool.
*Compressor is going out.
*Blower belt could be damaged.
