Why Does My Furnace Smell Like Burning?

The cold weather is here and that means it is time to turn your furnace on. Did you turn your furnace on recently and have a burning smell come out of it? If you forgot to put a fresh filter in you could have a clogged filter that causes the furnace to overheat and potentially catch on fire. Changing the filter is important and very easy so make sure you stay on top of it. One last possible cause of the burning smell is a faulty blower motor. If your blower is not doing its job, the furnace can start to overheat and cause the burning smell. All these reasons are why it is important to get your furnace cleaned and checked each fall.
